There are over 2,000 teenagers currently in Marble Falls. Some of these students have been reached and are being discipled by our student ministry. Likewise, some of these students have been reached and are being discipled by other student ministries in the area. However, many are not being reached at all.
In this, our church recognizes that we cannot reach and disciple every teenager on our own. We have a great passion to see not just our church, but other churches in our area, succeed for the sake of the Gospel. It is with this heart that we are inviting other area churches to partner with us as we lead CityWide Weekend.
CityWide Weekend is by far the best weekend of the year. Teenagers from all over Marble Falls join us for Bubble Soccer, Archery Tag, scavenger hunts, great worship events, and the most intense Nerf Wars Central Texas has ever seen. It’s like one giant sleep over with all of your closest friends, and you get the chance to come closer to God. Your teenager doesn’t want to miss this weekend…trust me.
While we have lots of fun activities planned to reach and disciple teenagers, our children’s and youth ministries want to reach our parents too. This year, for the first time, we will be hosting a one-hour session called ParentWide because we realize that reaching kids and teenagers means reaching parents too. We will be bringing in guest speaker Michael Sawyer to talk about what it means to take children’s and youth ministries outside the church building and into your homes. We understand that these are future adults, and we don’t want to make great 5- and 15-year-old disciples…we want to make great 35-year-old disciples. That happens when our ministries and you as parents come together.
Finally, we want you to be involved and for students to see that you care about this ministry and reaching their friends. How can you get involved? First, you can attend ParentWide. Second, we will need host homes, drivers for the weekend, and Sunday School classes that will volunteer to take over our lunch and dinner meals. It takes a village to raise a child and a church to pull off CityWide. Will you take this opportunity to be part of a weekend that has the potential to change a student’s life?
